🚨 DEFCON 2

Forgive me for thinking in alert levels.

I spent 20 years in the Navy, most of it in nuclear power. On a Middle East deployment, I oversaw eight nuclear reactors and trained all 700 nuclear operators aboard our carrier. Readiness isn’t a figure of speech for me.

So here’s where we stand, two days out from the election:

DEFCON 4: Election Day came into view.

DEFCON 3: MAGA poured over $8 million into this district to defeat me.

DEFCON 2: Polls close Tuesday night, thousands of voters are still on the fence, and we’re scrambling to fund our final get-out-the-vote push. 🚨

I really don’t want to reach DEFCON 1: losing this Toss-Up seat by a handful of votes because we ran out of resources at the finish line.

The good news is that my nuclear training taught me how to stay calm in a crisis. Panic doesn’t fix anything. Preparation does.

The next 48 hours will decide everything. We need the resources to keep volunteers knocking doors and driving voters to the polls across Hampton Roads until the very end, and to make sure every vote is counted.

Will you chip in whatever you can to make sure we’re ready when the polls open on Tuesday?

It’s how we avoid DEFCON 1 and flip VA-02, come hell or high water.
