something needs to tip the balance

I’ll give you the number first:

47-47.

That’s where the HMP poll found this race: me and Jen Kiggans, dead even.

Let me tell you what’s so ironic about that. MAGA has thrown $8 million at this district. They’ve flooded Hampton Roads with attack ads, Trump’s PAC has bought ad time for his “warrior,” and national Republicans have made this seat a top priority.

And after all of it, they’re stuck at 47.

That tells me their money can’t overcome the formidable campaign we’ve built. They’ve bought every voter they’re going to buy. What happens next depends on us.

This is the most competitive House race in the country, and it’s likely to be decided by a handful of votes. In 2018, I flipped this seat by fewer than 6,000. This one could be closer, maybe a lot closer. Every precinct, every door, and every voter we reach in the next 12 days could be the one that tips it.

We can’t outspend $8 million. We can outnumber it.
